Melbourne Fashion Week, arguably Australia’s Premier Fashion event of the year, hands out “show bags” to event attendees, mostly women aged 20 – 50, urban and professional. The event is funded and hosted by the Melbourne city council events team. The attendees aren’t all local and many travel and make a trip out of Fashion Week and attend several of the event and tour venues and attractions in Melbourne whilst there. Other local attendees do meet up with friends and spend in local venues before and after the events
Objectives
To gain funding to produce magazine and be included in Showbags of Fashion Week.
Result
I prepared a Branding statement in poem form – suited to our artistic fashion Events team – and researched the demographic, audience size and spending estimates at the event in Melbourne venues and later on fashion items associated with the event. I was the key speaker at the pitch for funding – which we successfully obtained.
